I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FloQast
Interview
Initial call with recruiter followed by a round with the hiring manager where a technical coding question is asked along with some behavioral questions. This is then followed by a 3 hour interview where you meet with 4 people within the Sdet team and the hiring manager again.
The disconnect between the nature of the job and the interview process is not just glaring — it's insulting. It's as if someone took a “Top 100 Leetcode Questions” list, shuffled it, and called it a hiring strategy. At one point, I genuinely wondered if I had accidentally applied to a software engineer position at a FAANG company rather than this mid-tier SaaS company.
Not once did the interviewers attempt to relate the questions back to their actual tech stack, product, or business goals. If they had, perhaps I'd have seen the method to the madness
On top of that the compensation was insulting at best with no incentive for stock options.
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
Given an array of objects:
array = [
{user='1', keyPress='A'},
{user='2', keyPress='A'},
{user='1', keyPress='C'},
....]
return an array with all the users that typed in keys in the following sequence 'AC' e.g. [1]
Question 4:
Coding assignment. One edit away problem. (They give you 25 mins for this problem and intuition tells me that you shouldn't be able to solve this within the time allotted)
