I applied online. I interviewed at Flock in June 2023
Interview
I first completed a phone screening with a recruiter, followed by a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager. The next stage consisted of two 30-minute interviews conducted consecutively, one with a department director and one with a vice president. After the interviews, the recruiter followed up to discuss my interest in the opportunity. All interviews were conducted via Google Meet.

Interview
The flock interview process consists of three rounds, each lasting about 30 minutes.
In the first round, the focus is typically on getting to know the candidate and assessing their basic qualifications and fit for the company culture. Interviewers ask about previous work experiences, skills, and motivations to ensure alignment with the company's values.
The second round tends to delve deeper into technical skills and job-specific knowledge. This may include problem-solving exercises, case studies, or situational questions relevant to the role. Candidates might also have the opportunity to discuss specific projects they've worked on that demonstrate their expertise.
In the final round, the conversation may shift towards long-term goals, team dynamics, and how candidates would handle certain challenges within the company. It's also a chance for candidates to ask in-depth questions about the company and the team's dynamics.
Throughout the process, the interviewers acknowledged the recent controversy regarding data privacy concerns related to federal government oversight. This transparency demonstrated their commitment to addressing potential issues and showed they valued candidates who are informed and concerned about data ethics. Overall, the process is structured yet aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of both the candidate and the company's current landscape.

After the initial call with the recruiter you go through a Hiring Manger screen, a technical screen with SQL problems + a modern data architecture discussion, then a few conversations where you go in depth on your past projects, finalized with an executive interview.
Everyone was very kind during the process.
