      Customer Success Interview

      17 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fospha (Austin, TX) in Oct 2024

      Interview

The process was long which is to be expected. However, their expectations for a entry level customer success role are illogical. The interview process consisted of: 1. Screening Interview 2. Dataset Assessment 3. Interview with Talent Manager 4. Remote Assessment Centre Up until this point it is very common for tech jobs, especially having to do with data science. However, this is a customer success role after all. The real issue here is the final step which they call a Remote Assessment Centre. This consisted of a 2.5hr STRAIGHT interview process you go in with two other candidates. The other candidates had breaks in between, which extended their time +3hrs , I did not. I don't know if that made me lucky or unlucky. It starts with you having about 30mins to create a presentation with the two other candidates where you do a mock client presentation. After you have 20 mins to present and then about 20mins of Fospha executives asking you detailed Fospha Analytics questions. I want emphasize this because they have unrealistic expectations for the responses and presentation. It is absolutely unreal. As you can imagine, me nor any of the cohort got the role. Our feedback was that: 1.We did not work as a team. 2. We did not do enough research on the company. Keep in mind - we did. As least as what is expected of a CANDIDATE. The level of detail they were asking is something I'm sure someone would be able to answer after NEW HIRE training not when you are a candidate applying to multiple jobs at a time. It would be absurd to dedicate the amount of time they expect. We had each done a substantial amount of research on the company. During our prep time, we shared notes, documents, and even flashcards (my cohort was so prepared I was surprised actually!). However, realistically, there was no way to be prepared for the level of detail they were searching for. I do not think they understand that Fospha is not the only job candidates are applying for. It is irrational that one must take a course on marketing, study the market of attribution modeling, and become an expert on Fospha analytics all BEFORE you are hired for a CUSTOMER SUCCESS role. As far as the team work aspect, we had three slides which we divided up as one slide each person. Makes sense right? We sure as hell bonded over those three hours and our mutual waste of time. The only good thing that came out of this is I made new friends who I look forward to getting coffee with and trauma bonding.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your interview experience with us didn’t meet your expectations. We are aware that we have set the bar really high for our interview process and we’ve been reassured in this approach by the results in terms of the quality of the people we've recruited and the speed at which they’ve developed within the company. We've seen individuals who joined us as graduates grow into managers and leaders faster than we’ve seen elsewhere in our careers and it's something we're particularly proud of. Developing young talent has become a core part of our mission. However, whilst we expect the application process to be challenging, we think it should also be stimulating and a positive experience for candidates and we're sad to read it wasn't for you. Thank you for your feedback; as much as we value our process and the outcomes it delivers, we’re committed to continuously reviewing and improving it. Your input will help us optimize the experience for future candidates. Thank you again, and we wish you the best of luck in your career journey. Thanks, Fospha Talent Team
