It was an in-person interview at their store, with two floor managers - overall a relaxed experience. Competency based questions around retail experience and customer service, plus some book-specific questions.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Foyles (London, England) in July 2022
Interview
Mine was over zoom but they are typically in person. Standard interview set up - 2 person panel asking mostly about my experience in bookselling, and some scenario type questions.

Question 1
How would I go about promoting/ handselling a book in the moment that I had not read?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Foyles in June 2022
Interview
The interview process was really straightforward and professional. Firstly, I had to send an updated CV and cover letter and then received an email inviting me to the interview. I was interviewed by one manager and a senior bookseller who asked some questions but mainly took down notes during my interview. The interview was split into three sections, first was admin-based questions so right to work etc, the second was customer service-based questions which includes your previous experience and the last section was a discussion on books where they expected you to know some bestsellers, recommend books similar to the ones you like. Overall really positive and relaxed experience.
