I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Franklin Templeton (San Mateo, CA) in Apr 2014
Interview
Pros: easy, straightforward questions; all behavioral plus a writing topic; no technical questions
Cons: very drawn out process; entire process was 4+ months in b/w first interview with HR and the final panel interview; because of this they miss out on top talent; only take referrals
Each interview asked similar questions. The interviewer is very fair. if you are going off topic or are not answering the question correctly, the interviewer will help steer you toward the right answer. The final panel interview is with someone in upper management, the head of the program and a current Futures Asscoiate. There are no technical questions asked during the entire process.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Franklin Templeton (New York, NY) in Dec 2024
Interview
It is a very competitive (only around 8 spots with 4 being in NYC), and I was also a former intern who received multiple referrals. But the interviews are mostly behavioral and want to see a genuine interest in the industry and some relevant experience (like student investment fund), as well as eagerness to learn about the whole industry (it is a rotational program). For my year, there was an emphasis on investment management. But the people are very easy to talk to, in my opinion.
I interviewed at Franklin Templeton (New York, NY)
Interview
Behavioral focused, really focused on understanding you as a person. Panel style so multiple people on at once. Definitely prepare and be ready to answer various styles of questions. Kind of a slow process that started out with a long phone call screen.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Franklin Templeton
Interview
Preliminary HR phone call followed by two interviews. They want to know if you are apt to change since its a rotational program. They also want to know that you have intellectual curiosity.
