There was a job posting on LinkedIn for a part-time marketer role requiring proficiency in a specific language. Given my fluency in that language, I applied and reached out to the recruiter on LinkedIn message. After he responded, we scheduled an in-person interview to potentially create a full-time role for me given my experience.
When I arrived at their office in Central, the HR personnel asked some basic qualification questions. Then, the main part of the interview was done by 3 senior team members in the HK office. It went well and they told me they will have internal discussions and get back to me soon.
After my interview, the same HR manager messaged me on LinkedIn asking for my salary expectation. I answered in great detail. This was acknowledged. A week later, I followed up with him and he said he would give me an update after the Lunar New Year holidays.
I followed up twice after the holidays. Completely ghosted. Sincerely disappointed in the lack of professionalism!
