This is the worst interview experience I've ever had. I had one recruiter phone screen and one "technical" phone screen. For the "technical" phone screen, I was interviewed by the Junior Data Scientist who would be managed by the Data Scientist they were hiring. The call took about 20 minutes and the guy just asked some high level questions about languages/tools/frameworks I had used for machine learning and data pipelines (I was expecting something more structured like a whiteboard session). The feedback I received from the recruiter was that I lacked experience in building machine learning applications. What infuriated me the most was not the fact that the interviewer was not equipped enough to assess my machine learning knowledge, but the fact that he didn't even try to assess my machine learning knowledge! I guess because of his knowledge level, he kept the conversation at a very high level without ever drilling down into the details. BTW, I did walk him through one full project where most of the components in a machine learning application were included, i.e. algorithm research, initial data ingestion and analysis, model training and evaluation, ETL pipeline, production workflow, etc. I applied to FreshBooks because I think they have a good product solving a set of interesting problems for businesses. But the interview process was a total let-down. Avoid the current data science team at this company and go somewhere more legit like Google or Amazon.

Contacted by HR member, discussed the position and my background. Then I had an initial interview followed by a case study (data) and presentation. All of the interviewer were professional and friendly.
