I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fruition (Denver, CO) in June 2019
Interview
Phone screen was great. Spoke with the Director of Engineering, he laid out a good explanation of what I would be looking at for the role. This part was great.
The face to face panel interview was very different. I briefly spoke with the Director, who asked a couple additional questions. But it was mostly the VP of Engineering, and a (junior?) project manager. The PM seemed more focused on finding opportunities to talk about her role, as opposed to what I should expect in regards to interactions across disciplines. Most of the people I spoke with at the interview liked to interject while I was answering their questions.
I discovered that they use a very waterfall methodology here, which raised warning flags. When asked about migrating to Agile or CI/CD, I was met with withering glares, and a response of "We don't do that here."
After the interview, I withdrew my application, and advised my concerns to the director. I hope he took them to heart.
