I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GE Aerospace (Cheltenham, England) in Oct 2012
Interview
Approached by prime recruiter. Telephone interview (about 45 mins to one hour). The interviewer was mainly interested in my background skills and experience. It felt more like an informal chat. Having said this, I now understand that the interview process may have changed. They tend to ask standard software development questions. These are straightforward, although I strongly recommend preparing clear, succinct answers. The interviewer may also remain silent on the other end of the phone after you deliver the answer... a standard interview technique (don't be thrown by this!) Personally, I don't think this technique should be applied to telephone interviews; you can't see the interviewer and so you don't get any reaction at all, and at times you think that you have got disconnected...

Question 1
What make a good requirement? What is the purpose of module testing? Tell me about DO178B?
The process was structured and professional. It began with a 30-minute recruiter screen, followed by a technical phone interview focusing on data structures and algorithms. The final stage was a virtual "on-site" consisting of four rounds: two coding sessions (LeetCode medium/hard), one system design discussion, and a behavioral interview with the hiring manager. The recruiters were communicative throughout the two-week period.

Interview
Interviewer definitely not friendly. Knowing I'm working in government field. They want to know more about my work which they should have known I cannot discuss my clearance work in specific.
