I applied through university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at GSK (Raleigh, NC) in Nov 2010
Interview
It was a very pleasant experience. The recruiter contacted me via phone and asked me about my courses and projects related to the qualifications they were looking for. He described the position to me.
Later I was called for an onsite interview. The whole team talked to me in groups of two and asked me several questions and kept asking tools and languages I used for doing my academic projects. The whole process was very smooth and each and every one of them made it really comfortable. They key is to have general software skills and a burning desire to learn and excel.

Question 1
What type of databases, repositories and languages you used for you academic projects?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at GSK (Zug) in Oct 2024
Interview
HR screening, followed by a programming task to be solved at home and 2 technical interviews. The process was extremely slow and coordinated from overseas, causing even more delay in the system. After the last round, they made me wait weeks for an answer. By the time they replied with a decline, I already accepted an offer elsewhere. The technical part was interesting, but the process itself was extremely painful.

3. HM Interview (45 min)
4. 3 1-on-1 panel Interview with team members (3x45 min)
They all asked technical questions about projects and experience on resume and if i had worked with certain technologies (Spark, Cloud Platforms, etc.). Also had questions relevant to team fit and gauging your passion and interest in the role.

Question 1
Q: How does a B+ tree work?
Q: Datalake vs Data warehouse
Q: Experience with query optimization?
Matched on Ripple. Applied. Given an extremely lengthy automatic HR Online Assessment that took a substantial amount of time, just to get rejected weeks later with 0 follow-up. I passed these HR OA's for every company I've applied to, so this must be auto. The next steps would be a technical screen. To be honest it is a complete disrespect of the interviewers time.
