I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Galvia Digital (Belfast, Northern Ireland) in July 2022
Interview
Managing director reached out to me to ask about my university experience, and talked about having a chat sometime during the week. Was suggested about doing a take home app development project before our chat; based on our casual initial discussion, I took some time to attempt the project and ran into some difficulties due to depreciated libraries and brought this up with the managing director.
What I thought was going to be a fairly casual chat turned into 30-45 minutes of being berated about how since I hadn't engaged ALL of my free time into this project, I had 'wasted my time'. They then would go on to bring up my less than impressive degree classification to tell me that I would never find a job with my degree and that he was doing me a favour offering me a chance at his company at less than market price wages.
When the chat was over, I decided to decline his proposition as if this was how he speaks to those he is not paying; how will he speak to me when he is.
