      Project Manager Interview

      20 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Indianapolis, IN
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Gaylor Electric (Indianapolis, IN) in Mar 2025

      Interview

Honest Review – Not Worth Your Time if You're Talented I went through the full interview process here, and it was a complete waste of time. Salary Expectations – The recruiter initially told me my salary expectations were "very high," even though they are actually on the lower end for my experience level. Bait-and-Switch on Job Roles – After going through the recruiter, I interviewed with the hiring manager. Instead of discussing the role I applied for, he tried to push me into lower-level positions like Project Engineer or QAR—both of which would be demotions. Disrespect During the Interview – Any time I tried to discuss my achievements, I was cut off mid-sentence. It became clear that the hiring manager wasn't interested in my qualifications—just in paying as little as possible. Quality didn’t seem to be a priority here. Shrinking Benefits – Every time I spoke with them, the offered benefits kept getting worse: Per diem started at $3,800/month → then $3,000/month Truck allowance started at $1,000/month → then $500 → then $300 Final Thoughts – If you are talented, experienced, and looking for a serious opportunity, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. There are much better companies that value skilled professionals and provide competitive pay and benefits.
