      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Geek Squad

      Interview

I applied online at Best Buy and I was contacted within a couple of days for a brief phone interview, then I was scheduled for a virtual interview with two managers. Approximately two weeks later, I was contacted to schedule a third virtual interview. After my third and final interview, I was contacted about a week later with a job offer. The first interview was relatively brief and casual, but it served as a screening process. I was mostly asked questions about my professional and educational background as well as what I like to do in my spare time and why I would be an ideal candidate. The second interview was more formal. Although this position is primarily dealing with resolving issues with computers and IoT devices, I was mostly asked behavioral questions that pertained to a retail environment. The third interview was less structured than the second, but I was asked a number of questions about my background, professional aspirations, and behavioral questions. After about a week, I was contacted with a job offer. In total, the process took a little less than a month. I was only asked two or three IT-related questions throughout the process. While the process was significantly more extensive and somewhat more difficult than your average retail position, it was much less difficult than your average IT position.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Geek Squad (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2016

      Interview

The entire interview was 3 step process. It all happened fairly quick, and rather enjoyable. The beginning was a simple phone call that didn't register as an actual phone interview but until I was informed on the second interview, that I did well on the first. Ha. As for the second, it was a one on one with the manager who asked questions pertaining to skills and professional history. The third interview was with the GM and another manager who want to get a feel for you as company culture is an important aspect of Geek Squad. The entire process took approximately two weeks with an offer being extended within the next couple of days if I remember.
