There must have been some misunderstanding, because we would not have asked such a question about “current salary,” which is not allowed nor relevant (especially for a student that is just graduating). We only ask the expected salary, which is a very common question on standard employment applications like the ones we purchase.
Also, we have not had any offers declined in the last few years. In 2019, we only interviewed two genetic counseling candidates, hired one, and informed the other on a timely basis that our position was filled.
