Two virtual interviews. Both were panel interviews. The second interview involved a case study and I was only given 45 minutes to complete it which was impossible given the amount of data and a slide presentation was expected. I thought I did ok given the time constraints but I had to fight everything in my being not to redo the case study the next day so that I could accurately reflect what I bring to the table. I was told I would hear back in a week but got an email two weeks later saying decision was coming soon. I then waited another month and when I emailed to check in, I was informed the position had been filled. It still shows as pending in their system and no feed back was given. I spent three hours over two interviews and waited nearly 6 weeks and I had to follow up to find out I had been rejected. It’s incredibly frustrating to the job seeker when there is no communication and while I understand covid makes things difficult, it is also difficult and stressful on the applicants end. I just thought the whole thing was not handled well and I encourage the university to improve their process so no one else has to endure this level of stress. I am disappointed, but what makes rejection harder is the not knowing because of lack of communication.
