I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Globe Life Liberty National Division (Columbia, SC) in May 2015
Interview
I got a call from a recruiter about coming in for a job the next day. I asked her what position it was for and she said they had a few internal positions available including clerical and that they were always hiring in sales. I hadn't had an interview in years so I figured why not. There were several other people there when I got there and we had to fill out a small sheet of paper and hand in our resume. The manager then met with us one on one for a brief few minutes. He basically just wanted to get to know me a little and went over my resume. I was asked to come back for a follow up interview the next day. The next day I sat in a room with 3 other people where we filled out a behavior/personality sheet and then listened to a presentation by the manager about what they do before meeting one on one again with him. Later the recruiter (woman who initially called) called and offered me the job. I accepted because I figured it was worth a shot.
I know that there is some not so great stuff out there online about this company. I am not under the impression that I am going to get rich quick with this job or that I don't have to put in much effort. The manager is also an expert salesman so of course makes it sound good. The manager here also pays for the licensing course so I don't have to foot that bill (otherwise I would not have accepted). It isn't the best job out there, but it is more than some people have right now.

My strengths that would be a good fit for the position
I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Globe Life Liberty National Division (Charlotte, NC) in July 2023
Interview
I received a text in response to a different position that I thought was a different company. Globe life goes by multiple company names, but once they get you in the office, they admit that the position is a life insurance sales position with the end goal being to sell you a franchise. There were a few, like myself, who thought they had applied to a different company and were confused about the position. While waiting for an interview ... I heard several people asking the coordinator(s) "So this is to sell Life Insurance? I thought it was something different" Moving past the bit of "bait and switch" that DID leave a bit of a bad taste --- the initial interview was quick, warm, friendly. The second interview was a group setting where a video was played and then the interviewer spoke to all of us explaining what they do and how things work (for the most part) The moderator/interviewer initially mentioned that we should save questions till the end --- which also would be one on one. ..I got the sense that the real purpose of that was to not bring some questions to light in front of the group since a pretty rosy picture is painted of what working for Globe Life looks like. I walked away feeling wiser for the experience, but not interested in it either. Lack of transparency is a red flag for me. Final thought was that this group is sketchy.
