Direct application via email + proxy application via Indeed. First contact via a light phone screening. Second contact comprised an in-person meet onsite, filling out general employment paperwork for culture fit questions and work history, then a more in-depth discussion with range/training manager concerning shooting history, involvement, platform preferences, and role requirements. Third contact involved a shooting test on the range.
Neutral review because the means of positive and negative confirmation were not clear; everyone was great, testing was fair, expectations were well-defined up front, and contact was speedy and direct up until the offer stage:
I was given positive feedback in the interview phase, answered all of the range work requirements and safety standards with enthusiasm and no reservations, expressed my solid background in the work/sports/activities involved, and passed the shooting test with points to spare and expressed my own drive to improve.
I was asked to provide a starting date and told I'd soon receive an offer the next business day. I was contacted the next business day with an extension to the next day. I made contact the next day and was told more time was needed. No follow-up for a week. I made contact and was told there would be no offer. Was quite confusing going from 100% positive interactions and a natural culture fit to a lack of contact and rescinded interest.
