I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Glovo in Jan 2022
Interview
Started with a HR person doing a pre-screening. She saw me as not appropriate for the position even though with my experience I easily fulfilled 9 out of 10 of the requirements on the job posting because I did not have experience in Linux Sys Admin, I was denied the opportunity to continue further for that position.
Eventually I convinced them that I would be appropriate for a Frontend position and I was then subjected to some canned "technical" questions where it was obvious that the interviewer doesn't understand and is just waiting to see if I say the correct buzzword to determine if I can proceed to the next interview stage.
Next interview was with a software engineer, asking broad questions about software, like technologies, some architectural questions and some frontend. It was a bit strange however as he was a Backend engineer with no Frontend experience and was interviewing/testing me on Frontend subjects that he admittedly did not have experience in. It seemed to go okay, didn't receive any indication I answered any questions wrong.
After having to inquire about the status of my application after not receiving a reply for over a week they finally replied saying that they would not proceed further. No further feedback.
All-in-all, it was a very strange experience where I was being judged on my technical skills by people not experienced in the domain themselves. Bizarre to see that from a large company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical interview asked about technologies used e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, React. Architectural questions e.g. monolithic vs microservices; strengths and weaknesses and a bit about React and state management.

Interview
The HR interview experience itself was positive, the recruiter was friendly, professional, and the conversation seemed well aligned with both the role and my background.
What was disappointing was receiving a rejection the next day stating that the decision was made after reviewing my CV.
Since the interview had already taken place and my experience matched the role requirements quite closely, this felt confusing and somewhat unprofessional.
I’d appreciate a more thorough CV screening before scheduling interviews, to better respect candidates’ time.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Glovo (Madrid)
Interview
I have done two interviews: an HR one and a Technical (Live Coding) Interview. The HR interview was an easy one, asking about my technical background and experience. And the technical one was a medium-hard question interview.
