      Website Developer Interview

      27 Aug 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Golden Frog (Austin, TX) in Jan 2012

      Interview

5 guys sit around a table and ask me technical questions. They made several off-color jokes about women (which seemed awkward), and they took considerable effort in bad-mouthing the previous person in my role. They asked me quick and slightly tough questions. I think they needed someone in a pinch so they quickly hired me and one other guy. I think the goal was to hire us both and try us out.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you feel about "culture fit" as being something important to your work environment? (This question should have been my first red flag.) Also, they bad mouthed the last developer, and asked me a bunch of questions how I would do things better than the last guy. (This too should have been a red flag.)
