I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gong (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in June 2020
Interview
I got a call from an excited recruiter with great energy. After introducing herself and telling me about Gong, we scheduled a technical basic interview via the phone.
In this short interview (30 mins), I was asked about my past experience and some general question about CS. This interview wasn't very difficult.
After 3 days, the Talent Acquisition (the same recruiter), scheduled another interview, a longer one via Zoom.
This interview was more difficult and covered many subjects. The interviewer was a tech lead in the company, so the level of questions was high (pretty difficult).
During the interview, I could feel that the guy had good intentions. He was looking at the bigger picture and didn't try to thwart me on purpose.
After this interview, I had another technical one. which was pretty much at the same difficulty.
The last interview was with the recruiter. This was a normal HR interview. The interviewer asked me questions about myself, my good and bad traits, and about my passions.
To sum up, I felt really good during the entire recruiting process. Gong as a company is really inclusive and fun, and it is shown by the recruiter and the interviewers that had great energy.
Looking for a job could be scary in some aspects, but Gong is one of the few companies that made this process fun and calm.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The Interview included questions in various fields.
Some were Algo-oriented, some were about Java's unique features and syntax.
The interviewer's purpose is to test your logic and computational thinking.
It is expected from you to answer the majority of questions you're given, but even if you struggle with some, it is important to show your good instincts and thinking.
I had an excellent interview experience at Gong. The process was well-organized, welcoming, and highly professional. Each interviewer was engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and created a relaxed atmosphere that allowed me to present my skills confidently. I also appreciated the transparency about the role, team culture, and growth opportunities, which made the conversation inspiring and motivating.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gong in Nov 2024
Interview
a friend recommended me on the company. He said the process is fast and efficient. However, it took them more than a week to get back to me, then the recruiter talked to me (like in all other places). After 8 days I pinged here, and she said she is still talking to the hiring managers (8 days??). 4 days later another HR coordinator set a meeting; the meeting was with group leader (30 minutes). 2 days later i got a short email, "thank you and good bye".
I suggest Gong to be more efficient, and if you do not wanna hire people, do not start the process at all.
