      Data Engineer Interview

      12 Oct 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at GoodRx

      Interview

I would have to admit the process is longer than what I would thought, but somehow Goodrx actually made it very painless. Actually it is by far the best interview process I've ever gone through - and I've been through alot. The questions were actually thought provoking - not in a how many marbles are inside a Mini Cooper provoking - but something you would have to think about during your job: What do you like/dislike about X framework or How would you approach x, y, and z problems? The entire process started off with a phone screen, then a live coding screen, another phone screen, then another live coding screen, and finally a power day on-site which involved five different interview sessions. Every one was very pleasant. At one point of the coding screen, I got stuck and the interviewer was able to suggest a hint without being condescending, so kudos to him. What stood out to me was how they behaved after I received an offer. I had a personal issue come up that prevented me from working. While I expect most companies to consider me out of the running, GoodRx actually took the time and energy to work with me and I completely appreciate that. That gesture, in my eyes, blows everyone else out of the water.

      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at GoodRx (Santa Monica, CA) in July 2017

      Interview

Applied online. Phone screen followed by onsite interviews. Interview process was very quick and efficient. I got to meet the whole team and I could definitely see the great work culture at GoodRx based on the collaborative and interactive nature of the interviews. Feedback was given the next day and decision was made after reference and background checks. Definitely one of the pleasant interview experiences in my career.
