      I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Greenhouse Software (Dublin, Dublin)

      Interview

      The interview process consisted of the following steps: 1) An intro call with the recruiter; 2) A written assessment; 3) An interview with the hiring manager; 4) 3 interviews with peers, stakeholders, and the hiring manager. My experience interviewing at Greenhouse was very positive and I certainly feel like I would really enjoy working there. I say this because of the product, the company mission, and especially because of the people I met during the process. I found the values and the culture they have created inspiring and real. A big thumbs up to the whole team! Greenhouse looks like an awesome place to work.

      Interview

      Everyone was exceptionally kind and welcoming, from the recruiter that contacted me proactively on LinkedIn down to everyone that I interviewed with. I had an on-site that lasted about 3.5 hours. They of course use their own product during the interviewing process to reduce bias during the process. It's an admirable goal, but to be completely honest, it's an oddly stilted way to interview for a position. They will ask less traditional interview questions, then type notes and score your answers in real time on their laptops in front of you. It's more akin to someone administering a lie detector than a one on one interview. I appreciate their efforts to even the playing field, but I'm not positive that making the process more awkward and less personable is the best way to do this. If there is no "flow" or exploration of a candidate's unique experience, then there won't be many candidates that feel that they can really put their best foot forward.

Our structured hiring process allows us to assess all candidates for a role in the same way (to your point about creating an even playing field). It can definitely be awkward sometimes, and we’re constantly iterating on how to enable conversations to flow as naturally as possible.
