      Purchasing and Inventory Specialist Interview

      3 June 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grupo Bimbo in Apr 2025

      Interview

I applied via LinkedIn, and within a few days, I received an email for a phone screening with their HR. The HR didn't respect my scheduled time and called me early, but that was fine—I understand everyone is busy. I completed the phone interview, and two days later, I received a follow-up call inviting me for an in-person interview at their Langley plant. During the in-person interview, there were three people: two warehouse staff who barely spoke (and I’m not even sure if they understood me), and the HR representative, who was rude, didn’t smile, and came across as arrogant. It felt more like an interrogation than a professional interview. Despite answering all questions confidently, I got the impression throughout that they thought I was overqualified for the position. The warehouse staff even said things like, “Are you sure? This is a messy job,” and “Do you usually dress like this?”—even though I was dressed appropriately for an interview. They had my resume and background information well in advance, so I don't understand why they were surprised by my qualifications at that stage. I drove halfway across Vancouver to Langley just to be rejected for being overqualified. To make things worse, the HR representative had a poor attitude and never smiled once during the entire process.
