Initial screening with an external recruiter to confirm alignment on role expectations and my experience. The recruiter was very transparent about the company's obstacles and why they were hiring for this role. Then I had 5 more interviews — all 1:1 Zoom interviews with individuals across teams and experiences. I never got a clear picture of what the interview process was or how many interviews to expect. When I thought I was getting close to an offer, I would get an invitation to yet another interview. I received an offer from another company and let them know — rather than negotiate with me to keep my candidacy open, they ended the interview process. Big bummer as I was very interested in the role and seemed like a top candidate.
