I applied in-person. I interviewed at Guitar Center in Aug 2013
Interview
Interview process was done by store manager. Great guy, but misleading in the amount of money you could make since it was mostly commission. Verified experience by asking questions about guitars. Made it sound like you could make enough to support a family. This job would be great for someone in college.
Well thought out interview pretty easy, I thought it went well but didn't get offered a position. I still feel like they are a good company although I heard they changed there commission structure in the past few years.
Simple and to the point. They want to know if you fit into the company culture. They also want to know what your skill set is as far as musical ability. It is very easygoing and relaxed

Interview
Felt like I was being interrogated or discriminated against, as if this were an important career. Dude, you hire high school students. Give me a break. Avoid applying to guitar center.
