Process started with a brief HR screening that just talked high level details about the job. HR more went over emphasizing that they were hybrid, but obviously not a ton of details beyond what was on the job description, but that is fairly typical for HR screens. We went over their salary range. They mentioned that they let go of the previous admin about ~3 months back. I did an initial interview with the supervisor. It was a mix of technical details about the environment, discussion about the responsibilities and some situational questions. It went reasonably well as they offered me another interview with the sysadmin that was handling networking as a stopgap until they backfilled the role. The sysadmin genuinely asked some basic troubleshooting questions and asked a bit about my background, but when the opportunity to ask questions sounded a bit confused by some questions like whether they were using vPCs for their Cisco switches in their data center. Even when explained I'm not clear they understood the question. Asking about how they handled network access control didn't get a clear answer initially either without followup questions. I didn't end up advancing forward in their interview process and got a typical vague suggestion that they were going a different direction.
