I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto
Interview
Pretty standard designer hiring process, with a few extras. Initial chat with HM, an initial portfolio review, followed by a core interview loop with the standard PM interview, another portfolio review, etc.

Question 1
I don't remember specific questions they asked, but I remember they were very specific on how the candidate aligns with their values. So, I definitely spent time crafting examples and responses that resonated well with their core values.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Gusto (New York, NY) in Jan 2024
Interview
Basic design interview with a manager screen (i believe this included a case study presentation), a portfolio presentation and cross-functional chats. Have at least two 40 minute presentations ready. Notably, there was no design challenge.
Everything was good. Asked the recruiter to pass on the feedback after the portfolio review but I was told that they couldn't share that. I find it hilarious that a company that's a people platform and HR solutions can't give something back to the candidate after a review. This is pretty basic and can prove to be valuable to a candidate in the market. You can't sell HR solutions if you don't think about everyone's experience.

All basic stuff revolved around the work I shared. The interview experience was good.
