I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Gymboree (London, ON) in Apr 2018
Interview
Didn't get more than 10 minutes into the interview since the manager's first question was fundamentally biased and rude - she insisted that my experience working in the plaza across the street was grossly different and subpar from working in a mall, but couldn't explain how it was different. She said because where I worked it was self serve. I told her she's misinformed, it's not self-serve and all I did there were the things she claimed I must not do because I don't work in a mall. "Well it's still different." How so? I couldn't tell you, because she couldn't tell me.
It was obvious to me she was setting me up to fail - insisting I fail - because she didn't want to give genuine unprejudiced consideration to a transgender candidate. I've worked in the same mall for five years now and can confirm it's not different. I still give the same level of service I did working in the plaza across the street. Why? Because we share the same customer base. It was the most bizarre thing for her to latch onto, but I think she just needed any random reason to be simultaneously superior and have a valid reason to reject me that isn't "I'm a bigot."
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gymboree (Texas City, TX) in Sept 2018
Interview
Amazing! Very detailed and thorough. Very positive and not intimidating at all. Such a responding staff. They were begging a new interview procedure by paper, rather than off the head questions. More by-by-book.

I applied online. I interviewed at Gymboree (Lake Grove, NY) in July 2017
Interview
Did the interview process backwards. Met with district manager first then store manager both were very laid back and comfortable to talk to. Felt the store manager was very easygoing and very relatable to myself
