I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at HBO (New York, NY) in July 2017
Interview
The interview process is still technically ongoing despite having been nearly 6 months. I applied online, and got a phone interview pretty quickly. Then I went in for an in person round with the hiring manager. I was told that they loved my unique experience and that the recruiter would be in the process of scheduling a second round... It's been a while so I've since given up but I should have heeded warning signs during the 1st round. The hiring manager was not paying attention to my responses despite seemingly listening intently. I would respond and they would ask me the same exact question as a follow up. Ridiculous. These people are solely going off of their luck associated with a covetous brand. However, if any indications show, they are very disorganized, slow-moving, and not at all decisive. Absolute waste of time.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HBO
Interview
Phone call with recruiter as a screener for the position. Call was quick, and did not hear back for awhile. Followed up multiple times. Overall recruiter was nice but not very helpful
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HBO (New York, NY) in Jan 2018
Interview
Applied through employee referral, and was called in for an interview despite my not so strong resume. Questions were very job specific. The HR person who interviewed me was nice and we had great rapport. Ultimately they didn't move forward, but they put me in touch with another recruiting site, Stella, which is helping me find other jobs and softened the blow! Very appreciative of that
