The first conversation was engaging and encouraging. However, during the second interview, the hiring manager declined to turn on her camera — citing either internet issues or being in transit (the reason wasn’t entirely clear). This made the interaction feel impersonal and disconnected, which was surprising for a role centered on communication and education. Despite positive feedback in both conversations, I was completely ghosted afterward. Multiple follow-up emails to both the hiring manager and HR were ignored. No update, no closure, and no basic professional courtesy. ⸻ Final Thoughts HLS positions itself as a company committed to mental health and patient support — yet the candidate experience I had felt dismissive and emotionally taxing. For an organization working in the therapeutic space, the lack of follow-through and empathy toward candidates is particularly ironic. Even a brief email acknowledging the outcome would have demonstrated the respect and care that should be foundational in this sector. Instead, the process left me feeling undervalued and deeply disappointed.
