Filled out the form on their tallyo website. Received direct message to take an online assessment which was just a simple comprehension test where they give you a passage and ask you questions about it, giving true or false or none of the above answers. Then came the phone interview where they ask you to give examples of when you have been in certain situation that could come up while working for them.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HSBC (Birmingham, England) in Feb 2020

      Interview

Absolute Joke I applied for a role here, the so called “special arrangements” weren’t put into place for my interview, I was only told they were after I had to ring to complain, interview was held on the call centre floor! unprofessional!! The interview lasted all of 15 mins, the interviewers seemed so uninterested, didn’t read my CV, got all my details mixed up! I felt like what was the point? The questions were difficult for a entry level role, if you are looking for people with a better skills set, why not advertise this? The ordeal I had to go through to get an explanation, had to wait ages for someone to contact me, Pippa the lady from HR told me the interview is quite “meaty” implying it is difficult and I shouldn’t apply putting me off this company again! Three different people contacted me regarding reapplying from a role I’d been rejected for, telling me I had to apply again to get an interview? How disorganised can you get?? The whole thing was appalling and I don’t even work there! Avoid at all costs! No wonder they have such bad retention rates

      Collections Advisor Interview

      13 July 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HSBC in July 2015

      Interview

I was presented with a stress test style interview that was very intense, and because this was a new experience for me I never got a chance to prepare. I advise you to research this as everything about what you do and did will be scrutinised and critically observed. You will be interrogated on why you want this job. If you can handle the stress and truly want the job you will be fine.
