I applied through other source. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at HackerRank (Mountain View, CA) in Jan 2015
Interview
The interview process was the most efficient I've ever seen. Considering HackerRank is revolutionizing the technical recruiting space, it only makes sense that their general hiring process is as efficient as it can be. Start to finish it took 4 days, which is: Contacted by recruiter Jenny (Super friendly and responsive) through the gogohire platform, scheduled a call for the next day with her, had another call with the CEO the following day and went onsite 2 days later. A day after the onsite with the team, I had an offer.
The interviews mostly consisted of fun conversations about the business; where I see the business is going and how I will develop a market as a hunter. You must have a deep understanding of the space they're in, the challenges and what you personally envision for company's future (do your research!!).
The team was awesome throughout the process and was in touch with me afterwards to understand what's on my mind and how they could help. It was obvious the relationship that was about to be set was more than an employee/employer relationship.
One thing I should add, since the previous AE reviews talk about the interview experience with the CEO: I had the exact opposite. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with him. I spoke to him on the phone once for 30 minutes, and then had a f2f for 45 minutes. Both were really pleasant and engaging experiences. I had plenty of chances to ask questions and he responded diligently with detail.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I won't specifically talk about a question but, as a seasoned sales professional, the questions were just as I expected from established (and super cool btw) sales leaders and a very highly motivated and passionate CEO. High quality questions which made me think twice. I think one advice I can give is, be bold when answering questions.
