      Backend Engineer Interview

      24 July 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Sat home
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HackerRank (Sat home) in July 2025

      Interview

Was selected in the initial screening round. They scheduled a technical coding round. In the email they mentioned the interview will involve solving real world problem with AI assistance. So I focused less on Leetcode and more on low-level design questions. But the interview was pure Leetcode questions. Solved the first question, but was only able to give a brute force solution for the second one.

      Backend Engineer Interview

      22 Sept 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at HackerRank (Bengaluru) in Sept 2020

      Interview

Was sent a link for a developer hiring challenge via email. It had two easy string-based programming questions with a time limit of 75 mins. The first round was on codepair with 2 questions based on ds and algo was about 45mins long. The second round was a take-home assignment to implement an API time provided was 48hrs. The 3rd round was on database design. For the take-home assignment faced a lot of issues with the environment - the python and django versions were outdated, the preview browser wasn't working, and the online ide crashed for hours at one point. But they considered my candidacy for the next round despite not being able to run of the 5 test cases successfully.
