I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Half Price Books in June 2019
Interview
This is a pretty chill interview process. I filled out a paper application and was called for an interview about two weeks later. The interview itself was standard retail stuff, although there's no math or anything. Half of it is just standard questions like your strengths, your interest in working at a bookstore, and son on. The other half is a little multiple choice quiz that tests your knowledge of popular authors -- like asking you to identify the romance author from a list of four famous names. I got one question about Westerns wrong but the others were relatively easy if you're generally familiar with the kinds of authors you read in middle/high school English and the kinds you find in airport bookstores.

Question 1
One question was to tell them about a time you had good customer service and a time you had poor customer service.
Was a fairly standard retail job interview. Asked about previous retail experience, challenging situations, and also asked about your favorite media or books. Wasn't a particularly challenging interview if you've worked retail before. Didn't last long at all, probably around 20 minutes.

Question 1
What was a difficult situation that you had with a customer and how did you resolve it?
Very straightforward they ask question and as about your background and what kind of media, books, and movies you like. Just be yourself and personable and you’re good. They also go over your resume so make Sure you know what to say and what your wrote. Very friendly!
Easy, straight to the point, very casual. They walk you to the office in the back room and it’s more like a casual conversation than anything. Management is really nice and had a good amount of laughs throughout. They ask if you specialize in a certain topic as well (what books do you read)
