Got a week email notification that I was shortlisted for the MWD Technician position in Papua New Guinea. I was notified of the date of interview, venue of interview, and what to bring with me and what not to bring with me at the interview. When the interview date approached, I was flown to the city where the interview was going to be conducted, I was booked into a 4 star hotel with all expenses paid for during the interview date. At the interview, there were 2 person for interviewed me. One was a HR Manager and the other was the Manager in charge of the department that I was going to work with. At the introduction of the interview, the 2 panel introduced themselves and their roles with the company and what I was going to expect during the interview session. Then they clearly explained about the operations of the company, the nature of the industry the company was engaged in and the expected outcome from me if I was going to be employed and the many possible career opportunities that were possible up the ladder depending on my performances. I was asked to introduce myself and the reason I wanted to work with Halliburton. After the introduction, there was a entry test given, covering topics from management to technical and general abstract reasoning. It was all multiple choice. The test was 1 hour in duration. After the test, I was asked to move to another room for face to face interview. During the interview, I was asked many questions from technical to management and general knowledge and my past experiences and my education background. More questions were based on my troubleshooting skills, decision making, time management and my interest in my career development with the company. After the interview, I was told the salary expected for the position. I answered the questions to the best of my knowledge and avoided lying and beating around the bush. At the end of the of the interview, I was told when to expect the outcome of the interview. It was one week notice. After a week, I got another email from the company, congratulating me for passing the application and selection process. I got the job, yeah!
