      Assistant Manager Interview

      30 June 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Branson, MO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Hanesbrands (Branson, MO) in June 2014

      Interview

Dropped off application, received phone call to set up interview time and date. Manager was very nice. Whole interview took one hour from start to finish. Was given six pages of questions to read out loud and answer.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Was asked "what's your favorite store to shop at?", "what's your least favorite store to shop at?". I was asked a few other common questions which was easy. I was then given a list of questions to read out loud and then answer. Scenario questions like "give me an example of a time when an employee did this or that and what did you do?" This went on for SIX PAGES of questions!!!!! Seriously?? SIX PAGES?? After 3 or 4 pages, I didn't even know what the heck I was saying anymore and felt like a blabbering iodiot!! No wonder I didn't get a call back!

      Interview

my interviews were very typical. First a phone interview with HR, then an in person with the store manager, then a final phone interview with the regional manager. The final decision took a long time due to the background check.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hanesbrands in Mar 2011

      Interview

I think it may have been months after the application, I got a call from an HR rep and had a quick phone interview. A week later I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. I believe 2 weeks after that, I had an in-person interview, which last from 7:30a until noon. I met with several people; 2 senior managers one on one and a few groups so that I met with everyone that I'd work with in my department. About a week after that I had 2 additional phone interviews, one with the VP of my department. The VP was the only one who asked me one of those weird interview questions. A week after that I received an offer, but they didn't offer any relocation. They do value education quite highly and I believe asking relevant questions of each person or group was pretty helpful in my case.

We often have to work together and help each other out. Give me an example of when you stepped in to help the team accomplish a goal.
