This review is for Hapag Lloyd İzmir, Turkey. At first when I applied to this job, I have received a call from a Hapag Lloyd HR, and we had a nice conversation. Afterwards, she kindly let me know that my management experience was not up to this role, and I understood, thanked her.
After around 1.5 months, I have been called by Hapag Lloyd HR again, and have been informed that they have decided to make the job requirements more flexible and decided to further interview me, and I happily accepted.
I had a very nice online interview with HR manager. Following this, I have taken an online personality test. The next step was meeting with Global Customer Care managers. I have been invited to the Hapag Lloyd HQ during the working days; therefore, I had taken an out of office leave from my current work and I have went to the interview.
During the course of my interview, the two person interviewing me (not HR, GCC team) have been very demanding; even though they knew my background and even though I did not cheat them in any way regarding my background, they focused solely on my weaknesses. I felt as if any of my positive experiences nor my brutal honesty during this interview helped the opinion of the team members, which is also OK.
However, afterwards, I have been totally ghosted by Hapag-Lloyd. No e-mail. No sms. Neither the HR who called me back, nor the HR Manager did not respond to my calls and messages. I am an adult and can take rejection. However, ghosting was something I was not expecting from Hapag Lloyd. It has been 2 months since I have been ghosted by HR.
My application status at HR career website is not updated either.
