      Senior Financial Analyst Interview

      20 June 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Happen Bank in May 2017

      Interview

Quick response from HR asking for a 30 minute phone call, which was easy and the recruiter was very personable. He even mentioned that my experience was so impressive that he went ahead and asked what times I had available later that week to speak directly with the hiring manager. I gave my times and then never heard back. Thinking it was a miscommunication or perhaps the recruiter went on vacation, I followed up 3 more times across a 3 week window, but still did not receive a reply. I was appalled by the lack of professionalism. Normally I understand if a recruiter doesn't reply because they get such a high volume of applicants, but if you're going to lead me on during a phone call to say that I had already moved onto the next round of interviews, the least you could do is provide an update to say something like the role has already been filled or management has decided to go with another candidate after review. If you promise a next round interview, follow through, or don't say it at all. Don't lead on candidates with lies.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Happen Bank in July 2017

      Interview

Scheduled introductory phone interview a week and a half in advance. When it came time for our call, the recruiter kicks off with the standard “is now a good time for you” and then apologized because the role had been filled. The recruiter went on mention that there was another position he’s recruiting for, but was junior given my background. Next he suggested I look at their career website because there are a couple manager positions there that could be a fit as well. I’m was very disappointed by the lack of respect on the recruiter’s end. He should have either A) emailed me in advance to tell me the news and cancel the call, or B) proceed with the call as scheduled, tell me the news, then have a conversation about my background for possible future openings. If LC can’t go out of their way to proceed with our scheduled phone interview or provide information about the couple manager positions mentioned, why should I take time to search the career page on their website.
