I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Harris Teeter (Raleigh, NC) in July 2014
Interview
First, I applied online. Then, I got a phone interview, which was just the store manager saying hello and scheduling an in-store interview. The in-store interview was very brief. I was interviewed by a store assistant manager from a different store in the area for one of their hiring fairs. I dressed up in a nice shirt and slacks and it was very casual. He asked me a few questions. After we talked, I went to a different room to get a drug test.
Straightforward process and not too difficult of questions. Went to corporate office, there were several other candidates there to interview as well. All went through interview process around the same time other candidates in separate areas, and then rejoined once interview was completed to start onboarding.
I applied online. I interviewed at Harris Teeter (Greensboro, NC) in Jan 2026
Interview
I apply through the Harris Teeter careers website.
Then In-Person, lasts about 20 minutes
Very casual and conversational.
They ask Basic questions like “Tell me about yourself.”
“How would you handle an unhappy customer?”
“What would you do if an item scans the wrong price?”
Pretty simple and straight forward, the hiring manager was nice. I'm a full time student so it was a low level part time position. If you have even average conversational skills you should be just fine.
