I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Haven Technologies in June 2020
Interview
I applied for QA role at Haven Life through a referral in May 2020. Had very bad interview experience and wouldn't recommend anyone to waste their time with them unless they have no other interviews.
Got Hacker rank test as first round which I cleared flawlessly. Afterward video call with QA engineer which went well and got a project test to submit the very next day. My interviews were moving pretty fast which showed their interest in me.
I gave 7 rounds in total over 3 weeks. Last 4 rounds were done on the same day. The hiring manager and most of the panel were quite impressed from what I could tell. Maybe one or two had concerns about my limited QA experience but didn't feel like rejection since they wouldn't have moved forward so far unless they were interested. Some of the questions they asked were very particular about their own environment and experiences which can vary for different companies.
A day after they just said they can't move forward because my background is not fit for this role. That's it. I followed up for some additional feedback but was ghosted. Which didn't make sense to me at all. After giving 7 rounds one would hope to get at least some feedback or explanation. It was a total waste of time. They don't respect candidate's time at all.

I interviewed at Haven Technologies (New York, NY)
Interview
The interview had three phases: an initial call from a recruiter, a technical at-home task (shows your expertise in a real-life case), and a final interview with the QA manager.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Haven Technologies (New York, NY) in May 2020
Interview
I applied for the QA Engineer role at Haven Life in New York through Glassdoor at the end of April 2020. I had a very bad interview experience and wouldn't recommend anyone to waste their time with them.
The first round was a HackerRank coding challenge which I cleared without an issue for this QA Engineer position, however, I also applied to the Senior QA position a few months back and couldn't finish the test within the time limit. I got rejected without any further consideration. This process seemed dehumanizing to me where there was no human interaction involved.
Afterward, I had a video call with a Senior QA engineer, which went pretty well. It was regarding my domain knowledge, background, experience, and a coding challenge.
The next round was an uncompensated, lengthy, and time-consuming regression testing project with unclear/confusing requirements. Given the type and length of the assignment, according to the industry standard, it should be fairly compensated. The assignment asked to find as many defects as possible on a page along with other requirements. I spent quite a bit of time to properly answer all the question on that assignment since I was looking forward to working for this company.
The next round was a video call with other Senior QA engineers for 4 hours. All the interviews went exceptionally great except the one with the project discussion. Not only the interviewer didn't appreciate my work but also got visibly frustrated because I logged more defects than they expected. They completely failed to realize the actual effort I put behind to find all the defects. That specific interviewer was very unprofessional which put a bad taste in my mouth about the company and forced me to reevaluate my other options.
I gave a total of 5 rounds that lasted for over 5 weeks. It was a total waste of time. They didn't respect my time and effort at all. I wish I hadn't interviewed for this company.
We're really sorry to hear that your experience wasn't a positive one. Here at Haven we strive to make the interview process enjoyable, transparent, and humanizing, and it sounds like we didn't deliver on that. We appreciate your feedback and are going to spend some time reviewing our practices to make sure we improve the process. Thanks for taking the time to interview with us and the feedback you provided, we appreciate it and wish you the best of luck in your job search.
