Hays County interview questions

Submitted application and was contacted for interview the following month. I met with a three person panel who seemed uncomfortable and inexperienced. The person holding my application held it on top of my competition's applications, which I found uncomfortable to see. They seemed overly concerned that I know the position did not pay very much. They only asked 5 or 6 typical interview questions and then I was shown around the work place. The whole thing lasted maybe 20 minutes and I really got the impression that the interview was only going through the motions, and that they had an internal candidate in the wings. They were very nice, but I don't think they were actually looking for anyone.

The center uses its employees, especially those that attend Texas State University to network with people and generate applicants. Turnover is incredibly high, so interviews are conducted about every three months or less. The interview was a two person interview, with the inspector general and the senior supervision officer. Most of the questions asked were to determine why you want to work with children. Drug testing, fingerprinting, and criminal background checks are conducted.
