The interview started with a written test that focused on critical thinking — had to choose the best answer for practical legal situations.
Then I had an interview with two lawyers/partners. They asked quite a lot of questions regarding your area of interest etc. The interview wasn’t very friendly — at times they made harsh remarks like “Your grade is high, why don’t you know this?” The vibe was quite tense for me.
They also asked how I’d go to clients' places for signing — said Grab is too expensive, so basically expect you to drive yourself. Allowance is RM2500, and based on the questions, it seems like there’s not much work-life balance. You’ll only do property law at first until you "master" it, then maybe they’ll teach you other stuff if you get retained. Work environment seems very fast-paced.
