Despite touting a culture of “Curiosity, Community, and Collaboration,” HRW has left applicants in the dark - some never hearing back at all after multiple rounds of interviews. Interview included an introductory call, an exercise where you add insights to a pre-written report, and then final hour-long conversation with two global heads including a passion presentation. Questions sent over email were routinely ignored. Also, HRW routinely overworks their employees (6+ projects at a time) and there's a huge blame culture where management doesn't care about their team (look for reviews about blame culture, low pay, and no real bonuses).
HRW positions itself as a forward-thinking, intellectually rich environment. But for some who have interacted with the company during hiring processes, the experience suggests a disconnect between brand and behavior. It's a place that speaks the language of innovation and inclusion.....just not always to the people they’ve chosen to engage.
