I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Helcim (Calgary, AB) in July 2020
Interview
1. After applying I was sent a coding exercise with some time to do it. The exercise wasn't too bad. 2. Invited for a first interview in person during the pandemic. Little weird but it was comfortable when I got there. Questions weren't too hard, just general resume questions and questions about projects that were completed. 3. Second interview with the CTO which got a little more technical but no algorithm questions or anything like that.

Interview
There was an initial coding challenge presented about a week after applying. I was given a further week to complete this challenge. I did not advance further within the application process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The coding challenge was to create a function which could mask sensitive information (credit card numbers, etc.) within a string.
You go through a screening interview with hr, then a behavioral interview with some devs aswell. If you are in line with what their culture is like and you answered the behavioural questions right, they will call you in for a technical interview. For the technical interview make sure your code is clean and refactored.

Interview
Waste of time. After a 15 min interview where HR did not ask me a single question regarding my coding capabilities, work experience, or projects they made me wait 2 weeks to simply tell me "we have moved on". Somehow with 3 non technical questions they concluded I was not fit for the job. By far the least effective interview I've had. Don't waste your time.
