      Graphic Designer Interview

      15 Feb 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Salt Lake City, UT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Helix Education (Salt Lake City, UT) in Jan 2019

      Interview

The interview process was so unnecessarily long and strict, you’d think you were applying to work for one of the top companies in the world. First I was emailed several questions to answer which I spent a lot of time on and put a lot of thought into, and then I had a video interview one-on-one. I was then given an extensive “test project” to test my design skills (because apparently a full design portfolio isn’t enough for them) that took me 4 hours. I was then asked to come in for a 3-hour “final” interview where I met with almost half the office. I was then asked for several references. I thought for sure it would mean an offer was coming, but apparently that’s the process for all the applicants. Ridiculous.

      Question 1

The work here may get kind of tedious and boring at times, how would you cope with that?
