The first interview was directly with the manager, no HR. They were looking for a senior role, and I applied because I have good experience with three areas of security and not so much in others. I mean, I've never done it but I'm eager to learn. The interview was very poorly made. The manager was clearly in a hurry. He told me that they were looking for a person that has a lot of experience in one of the areas that I don't (the job description listed all the areas, so that's why I applied). He started asking questions that I could not answer... I mean, that's why the first interview should be HR: to filter inadequate candidates like me. It was not a comfortable experience, and a waste of time for both of us: I would not have applied if I would've known that was JUST for that area and not the others, specially for a senior position.
