I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Helsing
Interview
Helsing was a company I really wanted to work for, as I think they are doing important work. Four weeks after I applied, I was invited to the first interview round with HR. The interview was with one person from HR and was being recorded by an AI bot. The interview was more "vibes-based" and did not require any technical or specific domain knowledge. Actually, I thought it went well and was quite optimistic afterwards. When I did not hear anything back for another five weeks, I decided to send a follow-up mail to the recruiter. They never replied and, unfortunately, they ultimately ghosted me. They did not even bother to send an automated rejection mail.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Helsing (London, England)
Interview
Excellent. Human focused throughout - taking the extra time and effort to avoid computer based filtering. This makes assessment of candidates much more testing, but as a result, much more valuable.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Helsing in Mar 2022
Interview
Explaining the CV, why Helsing, experience so far etc... Pretty standard interview, but the vibes were not that great. More or less a "okay I'll ask you my standard questions and let's get over it" type of interview. Then, after 5 weeks, I received a standard mail with the rejection. Pretty bad experience, on par with big, old incumbent companies.
