The responsibilities and scope of the position described in the Herald's ad--and in the initial phone interview--changed significantly by the time I got to a face to face interview with the managing online editor. A presentation I was asked to prepare on the role was dismissed as irrelevant, and it emerged over the course of the interview (disastrously short) that the job I had been led to believe I was interviewing for did not exist. Instead, the day to day responsibilities discussed were for a much lower level of employee. Strictly amateur hour stuff that suggested the team there aren't all on the same page in terms of the company's vision.
