      Senior Manager, Digital Marketing Interview

      24 Aug 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Uxbridge, England
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Herbalife (Uxbridge, England) in July 2019

      Interview

There were 5 stages of interview which felt unnecessary at best and disorganised at worst - this included a presentation. I got sent the 'wrong information' that was apparently for another candidate at the time (which I can forgive) but that was a little frustrating. In the end, I accepted the position but ended up recanting the offer. I was pregnant at the time and the line managers reaction when I told him was hardly warm.. I had hoped to leave things on good terms i.e. giving them flexibility to rehire if that's their preference whilst I took a short maternity break in the hopes that I could later join should a suitable role be available. I felt this was a better approach than starting off my career with them on - what they clearly felt - was a gross inconvenience. When I was ready to end my maternity leave (only a few months later!), I got in touch with the same line manager as we'd agreed, and they chose to flat-out ignore me. I found it really unprofessional, and frankly rude. Such a shame as I had high hopes in joining this team, and assumed the people working here were also living in the 21st century. Unfortunately, some people will never see past pregnancy as being anything other than an inconvenience in the workplace; their loss.
