      Outside Sales Representative Interview

      6 July 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hibu (Denver, CO) in June 2022

      Interview

Interview process was pretty straight forward, I was approached on LinkedIn by the hiring manager and a recruiter. I spoke with the manager initially for about 10 minutes to get an idea of the job and company, then we planned a zoom meeting the following week. I had my zoom interview on a Tuesday, and really loved the conversation I had with the manager. He was very nice and made me feel incredibly comfortable. He told me he was going to have two reps reach out to me and they would answer any and all questions I might have. Two reps called me the following day and we chatted about culture, the manager's personality style, and what the day-to-day looks like. I felt really good after those calls! We scheduled a final zoom, where I was offered the job. I was a little hesitant because we had never discussed salary, and I knew it was going to have to be pretty significant for me to move companies. I really wasn't interested in selling the product, but I felt super comfortable and supported by the team. When i received my offer letter the following day, it was honestly insulting how low they offered. I was really taken aback, but wanted to discuss it with the hiring manager to see if there was any wiggle room. I called him Monday morning to discuss it, and left a VM asking him to call me back. When I didn't hear back by Wednesday, I sent an email asking for him to call me. Another two days went by with no word, so I finally reached out on Friday declining the job, and then saw it was reposted the next week on LinkedIn. I tried to go about this process very professional, as I truly enjoyed my conversations I had with the staff and probably would've considered taking the job if the manager would've returned my call to discuss the salary and commission (the offer letter was VERY confusing and some clarity would've helped and maybe changed my mind). Overall the experience was great until I got the offer, then I was ghosted which was super bizarre.

      Interview

I thought the interview went great. Jeanette did a great job giving me the rundown of what Hibu was all about. I appreciated her questions, and she really wanted to hear from me and why I wanted to join the company.

      Interview

Jeanett, the hiring manager, was professional. Hibu seems like a good place to work. I would like to pivot and gain more marketing experience. I may have a better opportunity after I complete some additional training.

Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to work here? What are your strengths and weaknesses?

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bellevue, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I interviewed at Hibu (Bellevue, WA)

      Interview

Made it to round three. They already have five members in Washington. Keep in mind all leads are outbound meaning you eat what you kill. They are keen to coach you on your weaknesses and share more insight on their sale strategy. Overall, initial recruitment is kinda get you in the door. After that it’s really personality based. I brought up the fact that minimum salary in WA is $77k+ and that the base salary of $51k was questionable. Basically, it’s not even paying bills and that was “off-putting” for the last round. Digital Marketing is a new field and their product line is sort of basic to say the least.
